The Spirit of WISDOM and REVELATION!
Years ago my mentor explained to me that the word WISDOM in the Bible can often times be considered a synonym for Jesus. Armed with this knowledge totally transformed the book of Proverbs for me!
However, here the word WISDOM conjoined with the spirit of REVELATION can be considered a metonymy. That is a figure of speech. In representative replacement for the specific. Hence instructions coming from the White House, refers to the president and his cabinet. Or the pen is mightier than the sword. The pen being the subject the sword being the comparison and application. Why mention all this? Well drawing from my early discipleship, armed with the insight that WISDOM is a synonym for Jesus. Gives new insight to this verse Eph 1:17.
It is Paul’s great desire that the Lords own Spirit by grace through faith will continue to magnify and indeed REVEAL/OPEN THE EYES of our hearts to the magnificent KNOWLEDGE of Jesus!
No our heat does not has literal eyeballs... but the heart is the seat of all emotional, intellectual, and spiritual rational. To be blind to the things of God, is to be dead in our sins. To be illuminated by the opening of our eyes to/by the Spirit of God is to be made ALIVE unto Him!
May God open our eyes wider and wider to His will and majestic love, grace, mercy, and Devine righteousness! For our good and His glory.
