Jam? Jelly? Or Reservation?
My aunt Joy made the best marmalade EVER! And because they grew the oranges on her pecan farm, there was a basement full of preserves. Just waiting for a hungry little dude like me to come along. I could have as much as I wanted! I put it on my toast at breakfast. My peanut butter sandwiches at lunch. Then all over my rolls at supper! It was AMAZING! And it lasted what seemed like forever.
Today’s verse deals with how God PRESERVES the Saints. (No He doesn’t bottle them like jelly) God knows how to deliver the believers from the rot of sin. Whether delivering FROM temptation or OUT of temptation, God has our back. The unbelievers not so much…
The unbeliever has no such preservation. Rather the unbeliever has a RESERVATION. Left to their own devices, (See Roman 1) God has a placed for them. A place for them to eternally ruminate on their unbelief.
