1 John 1:6
(KJV) Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him…
Have you ever known someone who didn’t breathe? No? Me either, but I had to check. The only people that do not breathe are dead people. It’s the same way with sin! In John 12:23-36 Jesus addressed what I means to die. Drawing with the metaphor of a seed, Jesus explains that death is 100 % necessary for growth. In fact seeds are produced for the sole purpose of being separated from the life bearing foliage from which they came. Essentially dying, being buried, and springing to life again. The husk of the seeds no longer maintained by the old life, now gives way to NEW LIFE. The seed is CHANGED! So… if/when you find yourself sinning, take a look at the circumstances that lead to the point of rebellion. Dollars to Donuts you/we will see you were nursing that old life. Fostering the flesh, with all of its ungodly desires, wants and needs. We know He abides in us, as we have been sealed by His Holy Spirit.(See Eph 3:13) Yet we now know if/when we sin, it is because we do not abide in Him. Though we know He resides in us. That old nature can raise its ugly head. So what’s a Christian to do? Glad you asked. >>>1
