Yoriichi Tsugikuni is NOT an ancestor to Tanjiro no matter what Google says. I have read the manga and know everything about it and I saw that Google said he was related to Tanjiro. He is NOT. Tanjiro’s ancestor, Sumiyoshi, was very close friends with Yoriichi and Yoriichi was a family friend. Yoriichi gave Sumiyoshi the earrings which were to be passed down along with the breathing forms of the sun, in which Yoriichi made. Demon Slayer fun fact part one!

However, Yoriichi IS an ancestor to Muichiro Tokito. I know it’s hard to believe since Muichiro is a mist user, but, he is. The breaths were probably changed because they lived in two different eras, but Yoriichi is an ancestor to Muichiro and so in my opinion, Muichiro and Tanjiro are almost, but not really, blood relatives such as cousins. THREE
Yoriichi is also related to Upper Moon 1, Kokushibo, human name Michikatsu. He was killed by Muichiro, the Shinazugawa brothers, and Gyomei, killing Genya and Muichiro at the same time. He remembered his life with Yoriichi, and remembered that he wanted to be the best demon slayer but never was because his brother was always a few steps ahead. He then became a demon, and forgot everything. He was able to regenerate and if he did, he would’ve killed Sanemi and Gyomei as well, but, he saw the monster he had become, and said this isn’t what he wanted to become, and then self-destructed.
