In Hinton on Feb 8th a frieght train was heading northbound aka CN 413 There were 3 crew on board a driver conducter And a brakeman a passenger train heading southbound was on the same track 413 would stop in a sideing to let VIA 6300 go further but when 413 reached the sideing it just went past and back on the main soon the two trains saw eachother 6300's brakes kicked in and 413's didnt (this is unknown why) the trains hit head on grain cars fly while passenger cars flip on their sides one grain car flies into the air and lands on a passenger car soon the trains stopped but a fire had started and passengers were trying to get out of the coachs while the brakeman looks through his cab window to see a big black cloud of smoke he rushed out and started the mile walk to the front of the train people arrive to help but so could only do so much in total 23 people died with alot more people being injured thats that.
