The Jesuit Order The Premier Grand Lodge of England, would turn out to be the Jesuits salvation. What happened? The Jesuits had become way too powerful to the liking of 80 heads of state worldwide who felt threatened by the powerful Jesuit Order. They banned the Jesuit Order and assassinated Pope Clement XIII (the 13th) in 1769 only to be replaced by Pope Clement XIV (the 14th) and pressured to do the same. In 1773, the Pope gave in to their demand, he promulgated the “Dominus Ac Redemptor”, the Bull of extinction that put an end to the Jesuit Order. However, it didn’t end there, they continued using another name, in this case, the Freemasons.
