There were 343 firefighters who went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. Another 60 police officers in preparation for their morning patrol. Eight paramedics went to be in preparation for another "typical" morning shift of saving lives. A total of 2,977 in all. None of them saw past 10:00am on 11th September 2001. Never forget!
