Double tap to edit “Library of Alexandria” On 48 BC, the “Library of Alexandria” was destroyed by the Roman general Julius Caesar. It is said, Julius Caesar’s army set the whole building on fire and tremendous amount of books and knowledge was lost, but there is also rumors, the army gathered and took all the books before destroying and setting the building on fire, and those books are today under the Vatican possession at the “Vatican Library”.
