As a priest, I want to encourage all the peoples of the United Kingdom, especially Catholics and people of faith or none, to vote in the upcoming General Election on 4th July 2024 and to do so responsibly, choosing candidates and parties that will build a better Britain for all, a country of shared and genuine values, that promotes peace, both within our borders and beyond, justice, human rights, democracy, solidarity and care for our common home, as well as having a preferential option for the poor, the vulnerable and elderly in our society. I acknowledge that the UK is not perfect, but we should want to improve it together and making it fairer for all using the democratic tools we have, starting by our right to vote.
