The Thomas Fire has been doing damage all over Hollywood. No wonder they’re called wildfires. Huh. Seriously, though, this fire is wild countless people have had to evacuate their homes and go somewhere safe. It’s hard enough to leave your home during the holidays, but it’s even harder to know that you may come back and find you no longer have a home because it burned down. Thousands of people have already been evacuated, and many have no idea what next year will look like for them if they have no home to return to.
Now usually, celebrities are immune to these kinds of “life annoyances.” They have assistants for everything they don’t want to do and they can pretty much get out of anything since they can afford it. But the Thomas Fire doesn’t care about social status.
Much like many other people in Los Angeles, celebrities have had to evacuate their homes to stay safe. Now, since we’re talking about celebrities, then we know that these aren’t just homes. Oh, no. These are full-blown mansions. So maybe we should take a look at the celebrities who have had to evacuate their homes and mourn their mansions while doing so.
Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, and their daughter Luna are just one celebrity family who had to evacuate their home. Thankfully, Teigen has a sense of humor about everything — even about this wildfire. The model and cookbook writer took to Twitter to keep us posted on what was going on.
“Never thought I’d get to actually play what I thought was a hypothetical game of what would you grab if there were a fire. so far all I have is Luna, some limited edition Oreos and my spike tv award.”
I’m glad Teigan chose to forget about her shoes and take the Oreos instead. She’s my kind of gal.
Despite her skill of making light of situations, Teigen did take a moment to address all those who aren’t as lucky as her to afford long stays in hotels. “We are fine and we will be fine. thinking of everyone else affected and continuing my lifelong intense love of firefighters,” she tweeted.
Paris Hilton was another LA resident who had to evacuate her home. She took to Twitter to keep her fans posted and to thank the firefighters in the process. Hilton sounds all shook up. Maybe it's because her pets were in danger?
“This wildfire in LA is terrifying!” Hilton tweeted. “My house is now being evacuated to get all of my pets out of there safely. Thank you to all the firefighters who are risking their lives to save ours. You are true heroes!”
Looks like Gwyneth Paltrow will have to find somewhere else to workout for the holidays. The actress, along with her family, had to evacuate her home too after the Thomas Fire came dangerously close to her Bel Air mansion. I wonder if the Goop founder grabbed her vaginal steamer and kimchi shakes when she was forced to evacuate.
Other celebrities whose homes were in danger of burning down included Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Do you remember how much stress, effort and time Kardashian put to make her home “perfect”? There was so much detail in every corner of the house that even hearing her talk about it was exhausting. Well, the Thomas Fire came close to teaching her a lesson, and everyone else, for that matter too.
Brenda Harvey Richie was a woman in distress because of the Thomas fire. Thankfully, she had one reliable man in her life to help her evacuate — her ex-husband Lionel Richie. "@LionelRichie has been here helping me evacuate! Thank Go for him!"
The Thomas Fire is one of “the largest of several large blazes that broke out across Southern California following the onset of the Santa Ana winds.” Over 1,000 firefighters are working night and day to stop the fire. Sadly, because of the strong winds, it’s not getting easier.
