Netflix is bringing Louis CK back into the spotlight, with the comedian set to headline the Hollywood Bowl next month as part of the Netflix Is a Joke festival. It marks his first major outing with the streamer since misconduct allegations in 2017, and comes ahead of Netflix releasing his new special, Ridiculous, later this summer. The move has reignited debate over accountability and rehabilitation in comedy, especially given CK’s high-profile fallout from the #MeToo era. After being cut loose by Netflix, FX and HBO, he has continued touring, won a Grammy in 2022, and seen his profile rise again through podcasts, live shows and other projects.
