These days, we don't need to do extensive research to learn about the luxuries of air travel. A quick scroll on Instagram is enough to make us drool. Bloggers are traveling all over the world and they are doing so in the most luxurious ways. These people are going first class all the way and they are making air travel more alluring than ever.
So how luxurious can air travel be? Well, what if I tell you that you could travel in your own suite. That's what you get when you fly on Singapore Airlines. Of course, you'd need to dish out $23,000 for it, but hey, a girl can dream.
The suites will give you the privacy you have always dreamed of when traveling on a plane. You'll get your own bed plus a lounge where you can relax without having to listen to people's conversation or babies crying. It's like being in your own hotel room, except this room is taking you to a whole different country.
$23,000 for a suite is a bit much for the average person. Hell, it's a bit much for the average rich person, too. But there are other sweet luxuries you can enjoy on a plane. Like the first-class cabin on British Airways. Your own little cocoon here comes with a couple of perks to make your flight more pleasurable.
First off, you'll be screened from other passengers in the cabin and isn't that the best luxury around? Well, at least for rich anti-socials. The cabin also comes with a touchscreen for you to browse entertainment while en route to another country. It also comes with a locker to store your things and there's even a mirror so you can look camera-ready when you land.
But damn it, sometimes we get tired of browsing online or watching movies. Sometimes we get itchy and tired of sitting. That's when we need to fly Emirates A380. That's because this plane is equipped with a shower.
This is not just any old shower. This is a proper shower that is bigger than the average NYC apartment. More than being fully equipped, this is the perfect air perk for the anxious and the restless. Sometimes a warm shower is all we really need to relax our muscles and sleep on the plane. Even better, it's a great way to look refreshed after a long flight.
Air France is also doing its part to make rich people's lives much easier on a plane. The airline has created private "suites." You won't have your own personal cabin, as you would on Singapore Airlines, but you will still have some great perks while traveling.
For starters, you'll have a good night's sleep, which is always tough to get on a plane. The "suite" comes with a chair that turns into a bed. You'll sleep on soft hotel linen and the chair even comes with massage seats for pure relaxation.
But Air France isn't just going above and beyond with its private "suites." This airline is also giving its passengers a first-class menu to enjoy while in the air. You can expect nothing less from a French airline, now can you?
The airline brought in chef Daniel Boulud to create a menu that is far less boring than the ham and cheese sandwich the average guy gets on a plane. Some of the ingredients found on the menu include sea bass, farro, vine leaves and beef tenderloin. Look at that, the food even comes with a real napkin. Mindblowing.
If you know you'll never sleep on a plane, then you might as well travel with Lufthansa. This airline has a first-class wine list for you to choose from. Hey, if you're not going to snooze, you might as well enjoy the flight. The airline collaborated with the German world champion sommelier, Markus Del Monego, to curate an incredible wine list.
And finally, for the ultimate air-perk, we have this suite. This is the Etihad residence. Calling it a residence is not an understatement. This air-perk comes with three separate rooms that you can use when traveling with this airline.
The Etihad residence comes with a living room, a bedroom, and a private shower. It was created for two people to travel comfortably. The suite comes with Vera Wang glassware and luxurious Bernardaud china. There's even an in-flight butler to cater to your every need.
Now, before you start feeling too sorry for yourself, there's one more perk on this list that you might be able to afford. Air Malta offers in-flight head, neck and shoulder massages to their economy passengers. You'll need to email the airline beforehand to check if this perk is available on your flight but if it is, you're going to feel like a badass rich person, at least for 20 minutes.
