Here's how it's done. First of all, you'll need a makeup sponge — that's what makes each color appear to fade into the next. You'll also need a toothpick (or a similar tool) to blend the colors together.
Choose at least two colors of polish. On a piece of scrap paper, paint your stripes (make sure their combined length and width is big enough to cover your largest nail). Blend the colors together where they meet so you get a subtle, graduated look. Roll the sponge over each nail. Voila! You have a gorgeous gradient manicure.
Bright colors are perfect for summer (or anytime, really), so get ready to dust off those neons. Neon colors can be mixed and matched, so you won't have to think too hard about coming up with the right color combo.
