It's a crisp, fall day and you decide to take your pup out for a nice, long walk. The two of you walk side by side, breathing in the fresh air. You take his leash off and let him roam. He is chasing squirrels and digging holes, and all of a sudden, he is gone! Your little one found a hiding spot and cannot be found. You look all over the place and you can't find him. He is not in the tall grass. He is not in that huge pile of leaves.... or is he?
This is what happened to Karen Fornos Klein when she and her Doberman, Ambar, went outside for a walk one morning. Her furry friend started playing in the leaves and Klein took a picture. When she looked at the picture, she saw that Ambar was practically invisible in the pile of leaves.
She posted the picture on the Surrey Dog Owners Facebook page to see if anyone could spot Ambar. It's like Where's Waldo: Ambar Edition. Nobody was able to spot the pup. Can you?
Did you look closely and you still couldn't see the nugget? Well, give your eyes a little break. We are going to try this again. Okay are you ready? Let's see if we can find Ambar.
Let's first refresh your memory. This is Ambar, the Doberman. Notice the brown and black coat. Take a nice, close look. This dog is pretty big. Ambar shouldn't be hard to find.
Okay, let's try this again. Scan this picture. Can you spot the dog? Why is this so difficult? We know what Ambar looks like. Is this a trick question? Okay, let's try a different technique.
Let's do this instead. Let's take the original picture and break it down into quadrants so we can figure this out. Maybe if we go one quadrant at a time, we can find the little guy.
Still nothing? Okay, I am going to give you a big hint. I am going to tell you which quadrant Ambar is in. This should do the trick. Okay, are you ready? Ambar is in.....
Ambar is in the third quadrant. So, here we go. Here is the third quadrant zoomed in. Now, we have to get it. If we don't, there must be something wrong with us, right? Okay, everybody quiet down!
We need silence so we can concentrate. If you still can't see Ambar, don't worry, you are not alone. But, for those of us who are still frustrated and confused, this should clear things up.
You have to be able to see the dog now! Circled in this photo is Ambar. The pup is hiding perfectly in the brown ferns. It’s still hard to see him, but you can just barely make out his back, ears, and the top of his head.
Can you see? Here’s a closeup of Ambar. Can you see him now? I know that he is well-camouflaged in the leaves, but you can just barely make him out in there. Damn, this dog is good!
Isn't it so crazy that a big dog like Ambar would be so hard to find? She better keep an eye on that little guy. It's clear that Ambar knows how to disappear just like that!
Once you see Ambar, though, it’s impossible to un-see him! Look at that regal beagle. Okay, okay, he is not a beagle, but you know what I mean. Well, there you have it. Where's Waldo: Ambar Edition! We needed a whole lot of help, but in the end, we found him!
